Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam: On Thursday, in line with the directives of Srikakulam District Superintendent of Police, Sri KV Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, a comprehensive awareness initiative was conducted across various police stations in the district regarding the Shakti App, an ambitious project introduced by the Andhra Pradesh State Government to ensure the safety and security of women and girls.
As part of this initiative, police officers and staff members actively participated by downloading and registering the Shakti App on their mobile phones. They were also briefed on the app’s key features and functionalities, enabling them to understand how it can be effectively utilized in emergency situations.
The Shakti App is designed to provide instant police assistance to women in distress. By simply activating the app during an emergency, users can send an immediate alert to the police control room, allowing authorities to respond swiftly and take necessary action.
Through this initiative, police personnel not only familiarized themselves with the app but also reinforced their commitment to public safety by ensuring that they are well-equipped to assist women in times of need. The awareness program also aimed at encouraging widespread adoption of the Shakti App, empowering women and girls across the district with a reliable safety tool that connects them directly to law enforcement.
