Telangana, Hyderabad, April 10, 2025 – In a significant breakthrough, the Special Zonal Crime Team of CCS, DD Hyderabad apprehended two notorious interstate criminals involved in a high-profile attention diversion and cheating case. Acting on credible intelligence, the team nabbed the accused who attempted to defraud a gold shop owner by handing over fake currency worth ₹60 lakhs in exchange for gold ornaments.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Indra Jeet alias Virat, 24 years old, a native of Gusainsar Chota Village, Bikaner District, Rajasthan, and Mangilal, 22 years old, a resident of Ward No. 7, Rajera Village, Bikaner District, Rajasthan. While Mangilal worked in a cloth store in Surat, Indra Jeet is an unemployed individual with a long criminal history.
Criminal Modus Operandi:
The duo carefully orchestrated the fraud by posing as genuine customers and lured a gold shop owner into a deal using fake currency bundles. Thanks to the alertness and swift response of the Special Crime Team, both accused were apprehended before further damage could be caused. A case has been registered at CCS, Hyderabad under Cr. No. 45/2025 for offences under Sections 318(4), 336(3) read with 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Extensive Criminal Background:
A-1, Indra Jeet, is a history-sheeter with over 15 previous criminal cases registered across various police stations in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. These include serious charges under sections related to attempted murder, unlawful assembly, criminal intimidation, and multiple violations under the Arms Act. His criminal activities span from 2021 to 2024, and his name features prominently in several violent and organized crimes, particularly in Naya Shahar, Napasar, and JNVC police station jurisdictions.
Police Commended for Swift Action:
The successful operation was carried out by Inspector D. Bikshapathi and the Special Crime Team staff, under the supervision of Sri G. Venkateswara Reddy, ACP, Special Zonal Crime Team, CCS Hyderabad. Their coordination and prompt action led to the timely arrest of these seasoned criminals, thereby preventing potential financial fraud and restoring public confidence.
