Hyderabad, Telangana: In a major success against drug trafficking, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) and Chaderghat Police conducted a joint operation and arrested four local drug peddlers, seizing 74 bottles of Mephentermine Sulphate injections and four mobile phones, all worth ₹1.28 lakh.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Mohd. Imran Ali @ Kala Imran (32) – Rowdy sheeter from Malakpet
Ranga Shanker Goud (65) – Medical store owner from Barkatpura
D. Ritesh Kumar (32) – Apollo Pharmacy employee from Kachiguda
D. Mohit Kumar (31) – Finance recovery agent, younger brother of Ritesh, from Kachiguda
Investigations revealed that Imran Ali, addicted to Mephentermine, sourced supplies from an interstate peddler in Delhi as well as through Ritesh and Mohit. The duo obtained the drugs from Shanker Goud, who illegally sold injections without prescriptions. The group then sold the contraband at inflated prices across Hyderabad to fund a lavish lifestyle.
This operation underscores the firm commitment of Hyderabad City Police to crack down on drug trafficking and protect the city’s youth from falling prey to substance abuse.
Appeal to Citizens: Hyderabad Police urge parents and the public to remain vigilant about drug abuse among youth. Any drug-related information may be reported to the HNEW Helpline at 8712661601. Together, let us make Hyderabad a drug-free city.
