Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: In the wake of the recent car bomb blast reported in the national capital, security has been heightened across the country. Acting on the directives of Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, I.P.S, extensive precautionary measures are being implemented throughout Tirunelveli district to further strengthen public safety.
As part of these measures, police teams have been deployed to conduct comprehensive security checks at all key public congregation points, including major bazaars, bus stands, shopping streets, and other crowded locations. The objective is to ensure that no untoward incident occurs in the district.
On 13.11.2025, specialized units—including the sniffer dog squad and the bomb detection and disposal squad—carried out intensive inspections at critical areas such as:
* Railway stations
* Major bus stands
* Prominent commercial complexes
* Main roads and arterial junctions
* School zones
* Hospital premises
* Places of worship
* Other vulnerable inner areas across the district
These proactive checks are part of a district-wide effort to maintain heightened vigilance and reinforce public security. Police officials have stated that such inspections will continue in the coming days to ensure a safe environment for all residents.
