Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: The Cyber Crime Prevention Unit of the Tirunelveli City Police has released eight awareness short films aimed at educating the public on various forms of cybercrime.
These short films highlight common cyber frauds such as:
* OTP scams
* Online money investment fraud
* Employment-related scams
* Vehicle certificate verification app frauds, including misuse of the Parivahan App.
The films were formally released on 14.11.2025 by Tirunelveli City Police Commissioner Santosh Hathi Mani, I.P.S., in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Head Office) Vijayakumar.
The initiative aims to enhance public understanding of digital threats and promote timely reporting of cyber offences.
Victims of cybercrime can immediately file complaints via the helpline 1930 or through the official portal [www.cybercrime.gov.in].
