Dibrugarh, Assam: In a significant breakthrough, the Dibrugarh District Police have arrested three suspects involved in the recent Chabua dacoity case, successfully cracking the incident within 36 hours. Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Abhijit Gurav Dilip IPS, briefed the media on the swift and coordinated police efforts that led to the arrests.
The operation was spearheaded by Additional SP (Crime) Atul Kumar IPS, who supervised multiple raids across Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, and Lakhimpur districts. Acting on critical intelligence inputs, the police tracked down the accused and recovered ₹6 lakh in cash, along with a vehicle believed to have been used in the crime.
According to officials, five individuals were involved in the dacoity. While three have been apprehended, efforts are underway to arrest the remaining two. Search operations have been intensified across various locations.
A case has been registered at Chabua Police Station (Case No. 89/2025) under Section 61(2) and Section 311 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police confirmed that further investigation is in progress to determine the full sequence of events and gather additional evidence.
Authorities assured that all angles of the case are being thoroughly examined and reiterated their commitment to ensuring swift and effective justice.
