Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu: In a strong move to maintain law and order, Tenkasi district police have detained three notorious criminals under the Goondas Prevention Act. The detained persons have been identified as Veeranam Sasikumar (46), Palmurugan (35) of Kadayam Kalyaniapuram, and Mahesh (22).
The trio had earlier been arrested by Oothumalai Police in cases involving the possession of ganja and deadly weapons. Considering the threat posed by their repeated criminal activities, Tenkasi District Superintendent of Police, Shri G.S. Madhavan, recommended their detention. Acting on this recommendation, District Collector Shri A.K. Kamal Kishore, IAS, ordered their imprisonment under the Goondas Act.
The decisive action underscores the Tenkasi district police’s firm commitment to curbing criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of the public.
