Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu: In a major enforcement drive against illegal tobacco sales, Tenkasi District Police conducted intensive raids across the district under the directions of Superintendent of Police Mr. A. Mayilvaganan, IPS. During the operations carried out on May 14, 2026, police seized approximately 1,300 kilograms of government-banned tobacco products worth around ₹8.5 lakh that had allegedly been stockpiled for sale. Cases were registered against 11 individuals involved, and further legal action has been initiated. The operation reflects the district police’s continued commitment to protecting public health and strictly enforcing laws against banned tobacco products.
