Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, personnel from the Border Security Force have arrived to strengthen election security arrangements in the Nanguneri Assembly constituency of Tirunelveli district.
A contingent led by Assistant Commandant Basant Yadav of the 133rd Battalion reached the Sirumalanchi camp near Ervadi on March 8, 2026. The team, comprising 85 personnel including inspectors, assistant inspectors, head constables, and constables, has been deployed from Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand to assist in maintaining law and order during the election period.
Upon their arrival, the BSF personnel were warmly welcomed by the Inspector of Ervadi Police Station along with Ms. Selvi, who greeted the team with bouquets and a traditional musical reception.
The deployment of central security forces is aimed at ensuring peaceful, fair, and secure elections in the region.
