Hyderabad, Telangana: In a swift and efficient investigation, the Madhura Nagar Police Station successfully cracked a murder case within 24 hours and apprehended the accused.
The case came to light on March 10, 2026, following a complaint from Dulipadu Akshaya alias Sai Shruthi (23), an HR Executive at Best Group of Services Job Consultancy in Engineers Colony, Hyderabad. She reported that an unidentified man had visited the office seeking a refund regarding a job arranged through the consultancy.
According to the complaint, the visitor was taken to the counselling room where he met the consultancy owner Jaggavarapu Shashi Kiran Reddy (35). During the discussion, the accused suddenly attacked with a knife. At around 2:25 p.m., he came out of the room and also stabbed the complainant on her left shoulder before fleeing the scene. Office staff later found Shashi Kiran Reddy with multiple stab injuries and rushed him to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
A case was registered under Crime No. 184/2026 at Madhura Nagar Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Acting swiftly on technical evidence and field intelligence, police traced and apprehended the accused Pollamari Setty Prabhu Kumar alias Shanu (19) near Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. During the operation, officers seized the knife used in the offence, an iPhone 15, and four stolen mobile phones from his possession.
The accused was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody on March 12, 2026. The investigation is being carried out by Inspector H. Prabhakar of Madhura Nagar Police Station under the supervision of the ACP of Banjara Hills Division, Jubilee Hills Zone.
The prompt action of the Hyderabad police in solving the case within a short span has been widely appreciated.
