Madurai, Tamil Nadu: Ahead of the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections, the Madurai District Police conducted a flag march in the Thirumangalam area to promote 100% voter participation and reassure the public of a safe and secure voting environment.
The march, held on March 22, 2026, commenced from the Kallikudi Government Hospital and passed through key localities including Odiyapatti, Malaipatti, and East and West Streets near Kuraiyur bus stop.
More than 100 personnel, including the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Inspectors, constables, and members of the Central Reserve Police Force, participated in the procession, interacting with the public and spreading awareness about the importance of voting.
The initiative highlights the police department’s commitment to encouraging democratic participation and ensuring free, fair, and peaceful elections.
