Madurai, Tamil Nadu: In a proactive effort to promote maximum voter participation ahead of the 2026 Legislative Assembly Elections, the Madurai District Police conducted a large-scale voter awareness flag march on April 18, 2026.
Organized under the directions of the District Superintendent of Police, the march was carried out in the Usilampatti sub-division, covering areas from Ooranapatti to Seelanayakkanpatti under the limits of Ezhumalai Police Station.
More than 50 personnel, including Inspectors, police constables, and members of the Central Reserve Police Force, actively participated in the march. The initiative aimed to encourage citizens to exercise their right to vote and to reassure the public about a free, fair, and secure electoral process.
The event reflects the strong commitment of the police department towards ensuring peaceful and orderly elections while strengthening public confidence.
