Belagavi City, Karnataka: In a significant breakthrough, the Belagavi City Police have arrested five accused involved in 11 house robbery cases and seized gold jewellery worth ₹67 lakh, said Police Commissioner Mr. Bhushan Borase.
Addressing reporters at Malmaruti Police Station, he stated that the police successfully cracked multiple house robbery cases reported in Hanuman Nagar, Ujjwala Nagar, and Azam Nagar. Three individuals directly involved in the robberies and two receivers of stolen gold jewellery have been taken into custody.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rihan Dapedara, Mallika Hubballi, Armana Sheikh, Khalil Hubballi, and Shanawaja Pathan. From them, the police recovered 415 gold ornaments along with 1.3 kg of silver articles. Overall, 11 cases registered at Malmaruti, APMC, and Market Police Stations have been detected.
The Commissioner highlighted that around 225 house robbery cases had been reported earlier, and urged citizens to inform the police before leaving their homes so that patrols can be intensified in those areas. He noted that such proactive measures have contributed to preventing recent incidents.
DCP Niranjan Raje Arasa, ACP Santosh Satyanayaka, CPI B.R. Gaddekar, and other officers were present during the briefing.
