Hyderabad, Telangana: The Mahankali Police of Secunderabad Zone achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending four inter-state gang members involved in an organized cheating case.
The case, registered under FIR No. 52/2026, was based on a complaint by Sri Hiralal Verma, proprietor of Sri Jagadamba Industries, who was cheated of silver worth approximately ₹15 lakh. The accused posed as genuine customers and supplied fake silver along with fabricated purity reports to gain trust before executing the fraud.
Investigation revealed that the gang followed a well-planned modus operandi—initially building credibility through genuine transactions and later cheating merchants by supplying spurious silver. The gang, led by Hridesh Kumar from Agra, operated across multiple states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Delhi.
Police teams tracked and apprehended the accused from different locations and brought them on transit warrants. During the operation, authorities seized 8.4 kg of silver, ₹1.5 lakh in cash, and several mobile phones. The accused are also linked to multiple similar cases, involving over 12 kg of silver.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officers, with dedicated efforts from the investigation team leading to the successful detection of the case. Further investigation is ongoing.
