Udupi, Karnataka: A major house burglary case has been registered at Hebri Police Station following the theft of gold, silver, and other valuables worth nearly ₹60 lakh from a residence in Hebri village.
According to the complaint filed by Kirtana Prabhu (34), the incident came to light on the morning of May 24, 2026, when the complainant noticed that the front and back doors of the house were open and the wardrobe near the hall had been disturbed.
Upon checking the first-floor bedroom, it was allegedly found that the iron wardrobe locker had been opened. Preliminary investigation indicates that unidentified thieves gained entry into the house by removing the lock of a rear window and subsequently stole valuables including gold and silver ornaments.
Police stated that the estimated value of the stolen property is approximately ₹59.97 lakh.
A case has been registered under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the BNS, and further investigation is underway.
