Hyderabad, Telangana: In a major enforcement drive to enhance public safety, Hyderabad Police conducted a Mega Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) within the limits of Sanathnagar Police Station, targeting illegal liquor sales, drug abuse, and other unlawful activities.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP A. Ramana Reddy, Jubilee Hills Zone, following credible information about the illegal sale of liquor and ganja consumption in the Patdhiwada and Fathenagar areas. Senior officers and police personnel were deployed in specialized search, cut-off, lifting, and holding teams to ensure a coordinated and effective operation.
During the operation, police seized 25 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 82 liquor bottles intended for illegal sale from two belt shops and arrested two persons involved in the illicit trade.
The H-New Team also conducted drug screening of 15 suspects for ganja consumption. Five individuals who tested positive were taken into custody, and legal action under the NDPS Act was initiated.
Additionally, police seized 35 two-wheelers and five three-wheelers found without valid documents for further verification, reinforcing compliance with traffic and vehicle regulations.
The successful operation highlights Hyderabad Police’s proactive approach to crime prevention, anti-narcotics enforcement, and maintaining law and order. By targeting illegal activities through intelligence-based policing, the department continues to strengthen community safety and create a secure environment for citizens.
