Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: The Tirunelveli District Police and the District Chief Educational Office jointly organized a mental health awareness and training program for students on July 14, 2026, at the Periyar Government Higher Secondary School and the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Cheranmahadevi. Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police, Vishvesh B. Shastri, IPS, attended the event as the special guest and interacted directly with the students. He raised awareness regarding mental health, self-confidence, online safety, and the consequences of substance abuse. Furthermore, he advised the students to live with a spirit of unity and brotherhood, avoiding any form of discrimination based on caste or religion, and urged them to focus fully on their education and sports to hone their talents.
