Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu: A protest march and demonstration organized by the Communist Party of India (CPI) took place near the Hosur bus stand. Led by Thali MLA T. Ramachandran and attended by CPI State Secretary Veerapandian, the event demanded that the Karnataka government properly release water to Tamil Nadu in accordance with the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal’s verdict, amidst Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s efforts to construct a dam across the Cauvery at Mekedatu. Numerous CPI leaders and cadres participated in the event. Under the supervision of Krishnagiri District Superintendent of Police G.S. Anitha, over 300 police personnel were deployed for security, and the protest concluded without any untoward incidents.
