Udupi, Karnataka: Reinforcing their commitment to building a drug-free and law-abiding society, the Udupi Traffic Police conducted an impactful “Addiction-Free Udupi” awareness programme at Vidyodaya P.U. College. Assistant Police Sub-Inspectors Taranath and Rukmayya interacted with students, educating them about the serious physical, mental, and social consequences of drug abuse.
The officers highlighted that while the government and the police department are taking stringent action against drug traffickers and the drug mafia, lasting success depends on active public participation. They encouraged students to stay vigilant, make responsible choices, and promptly share information about drug-related activities with the police.
In addition to the anti-drug awareness session, the officers also explained important traffic rules and safe road practices, urging students to become responsible road users and safety ambassadors within their families and communities.
The programme received an encouraging response from students and faculty, reflecting the Udupi Police’s proactive approach to youth engagement, crime prevention, and public safety. Through such awareness initiatives, the police continue to inspire young people to lead healthy, disciplined, and responsible lives while strengthening community support in the fight against drugs.
