Hyderabad City, Telangana: In a heartfelt ceremony celebrating decades of dedicated public service, the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, through the City Police Co-operative Credit Society Limited, organized a grand farewell for 25 police officers who retired on 31 July 2026 after serving the department for nearly 42 years.
Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police Shri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, attended the event as the Chief Guest and felicitated the retiring officers with shawls, mementoes, and retirement benefits on behalf of the society. He praised their unwavering dedication and highlighted their remarkable contribution to the evolution of the police force—from the days of bicycle patrols to today’s modern policing with advanced vehicles and technology.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner reminded the retirees that “Once a policeman, always a policeman,” acknowledging their lifelong commitment to public service. He also appreciated the support extended by their family members throughout their careers and advised the retirees to safeguard their retirement savings by investing only in secure government-backed financial institutions to avoid fraud.
The ceremony honored officers from various ranks, including Assistant Commissioners of Police, Sub-Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Reserve personnel, Head Constables, and other staff. As a mark of respect, specially arranged government vehicles escorted the retired officers to their homes following the function.
The event, attended by office-bearers of the City Police Co-operative Credit Society and the Hyderabad Police Officers Association, reflected the department’s deep respect for the dedication, integrity, and invaluable service of its retiring personnel, whose contributions have strengthened policing and inspired future generations of officers.
