Mysore, Karnataka: The Bilikere police have succeeded in arresting two accused who stole 14 MRFs worth Rs 4 lakhs from the construction site of the National Highway. Vivek of K.Belthur village in Saraguru taluk and Prasanna alias Ramu of Kurubarahalli in Mysore city have been arrested. The 14 MRFs stored in the warehouse of K.N.R. Construction Ltd., which has been contracted for the National Highway work, were stolen on August 9. The company’s Public Relations Officer Srinivas Raj had filed a complaint in this regard at the Bilikere police station. The police, who chased the case, arrested the accused and seized 14 tires of the Ashok Leyland Goods vehicle used for the crime and sent the accused to judicial custody. Two accused, both from Kerala, have been arrested in connection with another theft case that took place under the jurisdiction of Bilikere police station. Gold ornaments worth approximately Rs. 9 lakh and a Baleno car worth Rs. 4.50 lakh have been seized from the accused and the arrested accused have been remanded in judicial custody.
