Bidhannagar City, West Bengal: Newtown Police Station conducted a comprehensive public awareness programme at Jatragachi Purbapara on September 7, 2026, focusing on key issues concerning public safety, security and community well-being.
During the programme, residents were sensitised on cyber security and online safety, senior citizen safety, women’s safety and security, prevention of child marriage, tenant verification and other important community-safety measures.
Police officials highlighted the importance of staying alert, following preventive safety practices and promptly reporting suspicious activities or incidents to the police. Residents were also encouraged to remain vigilant and take responsible measures to protect themselves and their families.
The programme aimed to strengthen police-public cooperation, responsible citizenship and community awareness, reaffirming Newtown Police Station’s commitment to working closely with residents to build a safer and more secure community.
