Kolkata, West Bengal: Kolkata Police held a coordination meeting for Durga Puja 2026 at Nazrul Mancha, bringing together Puja Committee representatives, senior police officers led by Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Shri Ajay Nand, IPS, and officials from the Fire Department, CESC, KMC and PWD.
The meeting focused on comprehensive crowd management, traffic regulation, fire safety, emergency preparedness and swift inter-agency response to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the festival.
Officials reviewed lessons from previous years and discussed measures to further strengthen public safety, security and emergency response arrangements. The coordinated efforts aim to ensure that devotees can participate in Durga Puja celebrations safely and peacefully.
Kolkata Police and partner agencies are working together from the planning stage to strengthen preparedness and ensure a safe, secure and peaceful Durga Puja for all.
