The official and residential premises of former social welfare department minister Manju Verma in Patna and at Sripur in Begusarai district were raided by the CBI on Friday in the Muzaffarpur children's home (Balika Grih) mass rape case including over twelve places in Bihar. According to Sources, several documents, CDs, chequebooks and passbooks were seized from Manju's official residence and her in-laws' place in Begusarai. The prime accused Brajesh Thakur's places were also raided. A huge quantity of condoms and pornographic materials were recovered from there. The residences of Manoj Kumar, Ritesh Anupam, the brother-in-law of Thakur (both TV journalists) and Suman Sahi, a close aide of the latter were also raided. All the three have been detained. Another raid was carried out at at the residence of Sunil Kumar Jha, a social welfare department official. Mrs. Verma was questioned regarding her official orders in favour of Brajesh Thakur. She was also asked to identify her signature. A computer, some files and other documents were seized from places belonging to Brajesh, Ritesh and Shahista according to sources.
