Vellore: The Government of Tamil Nadu 30th road safety awareness week celebration was held yesterday at Ranipet. Vellore Superintendent of Police Mr. Pravesh Kumar, IPS led the function.
Ranipet regional transport officer Mr.Pattapasamy, Arakkonam Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Duraipandian took the lead. This is followed by an awareness March began flagged off by Superintendent of Police, vellore.
Later, Vellore Superintendent of Police Mr.Pravesh Kumar IPS said, in the most of the roads death happens in the two wheelers. When driving on the national highway, speed control is essential. Everyone should follow the speed limit board placed on the way.
Road safety should be felt as a life security. Last year, road accidents death rates fell by 21% compared to the previous year. The Superintendent of Police asked all the people to cooperate further to cut down the accidents.
Later, road awareness cultural programs, leaflets were distributed. At the ceremony, transport inspector Mr. Mr.Shivraj and Inspectors, Mr. Anandan (Ranipet), Mr. Thirunavukkarasu (Walajapet), Mr. Pugazhendhi (Arcot), Mr. Kandeepan (Thimiri) and traffic police, College and high school students participated in the Traffic awareness program.
