Udupi, Karnataka: In a significant breakthrough, the Malpe Police Station successfully apprehended an absconding warrant accused who had been evading court proceedings for nearly 15 years.
The accused, Zubair (42), a resident of Paduthonse village near Jamia Masjid, was wanted in multiple cases registered under various sections of the IPC and had failed to appear before the PRL SR Civil Judge and CJM Court Udupi.
Acting under the guidance of senior officers, a special police team was formed and led by Sub-Inspector Anil Kumar D. The team, comprising dedicated staff members, traced and arrested the accused at Shivajinagar on March 22, 2026.
The accused was subsequently produced before the Hon’ble Court on March 23, 2026, marking the successful execution of a long-pending warrant.
This operation highlights the police department’s persistent efforts and commitment to ensuring that absconding offenders are brought to justice, irrespective of the time elapsed.
