Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given good news to the women police of the Secretariat in Andhra Pradesh. The government on Wednesday issued a notification setting up a women police unit in Andhra Pradesh. The village and ward issued a notification to change the women care secretaries to women police. The Andhra Pradesh Home Ministry on Wednesday evening issued a notification announcing the terms of service and the category of posts to this effect.
Also, the Secretariat also gave an explanation on promotions to women police. There will be posts in all five categories in this women’s police department. The Andhra Pradesh Home Ministry said in the notification that there will be job categories for Women Police Inspector Non-Gazetted, Women Police Sub-Inspector, Women Police ASI, Senior Women Police, and Women Police.
The Government has revealed that 90 percent of women police personnel will be recruited through direct recruitment. It was clarified that women home guards will be replaced by 5 percent, village and ward women volunteers by 5 percent in the women police department. The government said in a notification that the ongoing village and ward care secretaries would be re-designated as women police.
