Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh: Acting on credible intelligence received by the Task Force and State Intelligence teams, the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) conducted vehicle checks near Jyothigudi–Varikuntla village in Avadhoota Kasinayana Mandal of Kadapa district.
During the operation, the team intercepted a Bolero Maxi Truck (Container) transporting Red Sanders logs under the guise of household goods. Two interstate smugglers, Sunny and Ramesh, both from Haryana, were apprehended.
The police seized 78 Red Sanders logs worth approximately ₹1.5 crore, along with the Bolero Maxi Truck used for transportation.
During the investigation, Forest Beat Officer (FBO) Mallikarjuna, posted at Jyothi Forest Beat, was found to have assisted the smugglers and was subsequently arrested.
DGP Shri Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, congratulated the officers and personnel of the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) for successfully seizing Red Sanders logs worth ₹1.5 crore and dismantling an interstate smuggling operation.
