Bengaluru: A murder case was solved as the Bengaluru Police arrested a cab driver aged 29 for the murder of his childhood friend, whom he suspected had sexually harassed his wife. The police identified the accused as Mohan, 29, a cab driver and a resident of Lavakusha Nagar on Saturday. The police have also arrested his wife Ramya, 25, by charging her with assisting with the murder. According to the police, Mohan and the deceased, Madhu, 24, were friends from childhood onwards. Mohan and Ramya were married a few years ago. The three persons were natives of Gopanahalli in Hassan and were staying in Rajagopalanagar. Both Madhu and Mohan worked as drivers in a private company. The Police said Madhu was a regular visitor to Mohan’s house and was friends with Ramya and her family too. In the last two months, Madhu allegedly started asking Ramya for sexual favours but she refused to his requests and began to avoid him but Madhu continued to harass Ramya and her sister too. Ramya brought this detail to her husband’s notice and he warned Madhu to stay away from his wife. He did not heed to his warning and continued the harressment. Finally Mohan decided to kill Madhu and invited him for a talk where a fight broke out between the three over the same issue. Mohan held Madhu and asked his wife to hit Madhu on his head and Ramya obeyed his word and hit him. Hearing the commotion the neighbors rushed to the house where they found Madhu lying in a pool of blood. The police were informed and based on the information, the police rushed to the spot and arrested the couple, who had planned to leave the city. The police on interrogation have recorded the statement of the accused and are verifying the facts to ascertain the exact motive behind the murder. ]]>
