CHENNAI: The body of a unidentified youth that was found recently by the Police at the Marina beach has been identified and found to be a case of murder, Police said. Mr. V Balakrishnan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mylapore said, Sherif was working at a tailoring unit in Nungambakkam and was staying at Lloyds Road in Royapettah. Sherif had recently managed to get his friend Ansari a job in the tailoring unit. Ansari worked hard and was soon promoted above Sherif. This angered Sherif and the argued about it ten days ago. Police said, the arrested was identified as Munavar Sherif (25), who confessed to have killed Noor Hussain Ansari (27) over a professional rivalry. The duo hailed from West Champaran district in Bihar. Sherif on Thursday managed to bring Ansari to the Marina beach on the pretext of ending the bad blood between them. There, Sherif stabbed Ansari multiple times, killing him on the spot and fled. Sherif committed the murder by himself, Police added. “It was Sherif who taught Ansari tailoring. But later, he felt that he might lose his job because of Ansari. Sherif had brought Ansari to the beach on a two-wheeler by offering to buy him dinner. Police added, however, he had planned to murder Ansari and had hidden a knife inside his pocket. An anonymous caller on Friday morning informed the Marina police about the body of a migrant youth with multiple stab injuries on the beach, opposite to the slum clearance board building. Police recovered his Aadhaar card to identify him as Ansari. A post mortem was conducted at the Government Royapettah Hospital following which the body was sent to his native place.
