Trivandrum: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the revamped Citizen Service Portal of the Police and the mobile application that includes the Citizen Service. The function was attended by State Police Chief Mr. Anil Kant IPS, police headquarters ADGP Mr. Manoj Abraham IPS, city police commissioner Mr. Balram Kumar Upadhyay, DIGP Mr. P Prakash, and other senior officials. The new portal has been redesigned to make the existing service portal Tuna easier for the public to use. You can apply through the new portal for services such as filing complaints at police stations, obtaining copies of FIRs, documents to be submitted for insurance claims in case of accidents, a police clearance certificate, and permission to use loudspeakers. The new portal also offers online payment methods to pay for services such as police clearance certificates and loudspeaker licenses. The documents required to be submitted with the application can also be uploaded online through this system.
There is also a facility to obtain non-objection certificates by checking the details of vehicles across the country through the website of the National Crime Records Bureau. The service will also be available on mobile phones through the Pol-App, the mobile app of the Kerala Police. The services and documents required for the application are available through the portal itself so that the public can pick up the required documents without going to the police station. The status of applications for each service will be made available to the applicant via SMS or portal. Receipts are also available for registered complaints. Arrangements have also been made to prove the authenticity of the certificates issued by the police. The Assistant Portal was upgraded by the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) officials in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Developed on a microservice-based container infrastructure, the system is the first of its kind in the country’s police force.
