Eluru: DGP Mr. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao IPS held a crime review meeting with the SSPs of Eluru, West Godavari, Krishna, East Godavari, Kakinada, and BR Ambedkar Konaseema Districts under the Eluru Range, focusing on crime control and law & order issues.
Meeting Brief:
Under the current 100-day action plan, we are prioritizing the prevention of illegal transportation and use of ganja.
Anti-Task Force (ATF) teams will be established to eliminate ganja activity entirely.
Special attention will be given to preventing sexual assaults on women and minor girls.
Strong measures are being implemented to combat cybercrime across the state.
Currently, cybercrime police stations in AP are only located in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, but they will soon be established in all districts, as approved by the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
Recently, a minor girl was brutally assaulted in Palleramudi village of Nuzividu Rural Mandal. The Eluru District Police apprehended the accused within 48 hours. During the visit, the DGP handed over a financial assistance cheque of Rs.1 lakh to the parents of the minor girl.
Due to heavy rains and flooding in low-lying areas of the Eluru Range, drones were deployed to rescue people trapped in floodwaters. The use of modern technology helped save lives in critical situations.
In addition to police personnel, SIs, CIs, and DSPs are also expected to engage in basic policing duties.
