<![CDATA[A Sub-Inspector of the Mylapore police station chased and arrested a person with a previous criminal record, who has been absconding for the past four-years in Alwarpet on Saturday night.It was like an action packed scene from a movie. According to the police, Dokkunu alias Dokkan Raja from Pallaku Managar locality near Luz is a close aide of gangster CD Mani. He was involved in attempt to murder cases in the city and outskirts. The police have been in search of him for the past four years. They got to know that he visited Pallaku Managar once a month in the evenings to collect 'mamool'. On Saturday at around 6 p.m., the police received information that Raja was in Mylapore. Mr.Ilayaraja, Sub-Inspector said that he went to his locality with six other police personnel. The police fanned out and started searching for him. Raja was spotted near a playground in Pallaku Managar. Mr. Ilayaraja said that he tried to speed away on his bike, but he was chased by the Sub -Inspector on his two-wheeler. Near Alwarpet Anjaneyar temple the Sub-Inspector ordered him to stop. But as he tried to escape, the police officer jumped on his bike and both of them fell. Through Raja tried to wriggle out, the sub-inspector managed to hold on to him. Some members of the public came to help the police officer. He was taken to the Mylapore police station for interrogation,” he added. The Sub-Inspector sustained minor injuries.
