New Delhi, May 8, 2025: Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting today at South Block, New Delhi, to conduct a comprehensive review of the security situation along the western borderand assess the operational readiness of the Indian Armed Forces.
The meeting was attended by senior leadership of the defence establishment, including Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, and Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh.
During the meeting, the Defence Minister was briefed on the current threat perception, deployment posture, and strategic preparedness of the Army, Navy, and Air Force in the western theatre. Discussions also focused on coordination between the three services for joint operations, technological upgradation, infrastructure development in border areas, and the status of ongoing and future defence projects.
Shri Rajnath Singh commended the Armed Forces for their unwavering vigilance, operational synergy, and commitment to national security. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a robust deterrent and being fully prepared to respond to any emerging threats.
The meeting reflects the government’s continued emphasis on ensuring territorial integrity and enhancing combat readiness through regular strategic assessments and high-level coordination.
