Bengaluru: The Government of Karnataka has initiated the transfers of a number of Police officials and has appointed a new Police Commissioner for Bengaluru. Mr. Alok Kumar has been posted as the new Bengaluru Police Commissioner. He was the Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) and he replaced Mr. T. Suneel Kumar who has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police (Recruitment.). The number of police officials who got the order to be transferred and deputed numbered to as many as 19 by the State Government which took place late in the night on Sunday. Mr. Alok Kumar has received a promotion as Commissioner of Police. Mr. Ravikanthe Gowda, DIG, heading the Special Investigation Team for the I Monetary Advisory (IMA) Group fraud, has been transferred and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime). Mr. B.K. Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police, West division, who headed the Gauri Lankesh murder case investigation, has been transferred and posted as Home Secretary, filling the existing vacancy. Mr. Amrit Paul, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Administration, has been transferred and posted as IGP (Eastern Range), and Mr. Umesh Kumar, IGP (Southern Range) has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner of Police, (Administration). Mr. Somendu Mukharjee, IGP (Eastern Range) has been transferred and posted as IGP (Internal Security Division); Mr. MN Anucheth, District Commissioner of Police (DCP), Administration, credited with cracking the Gauri Lankesh murder case, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police for Railways. The present SP (Railways) Mr. Bhimashankar Guled has been transferred and posted as DCP, (Northeast Division). Ms. Kala Krishnaswamy DCP (Northeast Division) has been transferred and posted as Director (FSL). Mr. B. Ramesh, Superintendent of Police, Ramnagar District, who was earlier posted to head STF, BDA has been transferred and posted as DCP (West Division). The present DCP West division, Mr. Ravi D Channannavar has been transferred and posted to the existing vacancy of SO, CID. ]]>
