Ramanathapuram: Ramanathapuram District witnessed an Environmental Education Program organized by the Tamil Nadu Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department, aligning with the directives of the Central Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change in 2024. The inauguration ceremony took place at St. Michael’s High School in R.S. Mangalam, with Pro-Inspector Mr. Vishnuvardhan leading the flag waving ceremony. Ms. Aruthashri Bhakiya Rosary, the Headmistress of Sengudi St. Michael’s High School, and Mr. Karunakaran, the National Green Force Coordinator of the school, also played significant roles. Mr. Bernadette, the Ramanathapuram Education District National Green Force Coordinator, warmly welcomed the attendees, including faculty members and students. The event extended to various locations like RS Mangalam Bus Station, Bharathinagar, Ramanathapuram Central Bus Station, and Palace, where Nila Art Group, representing the Tamil Nadu Environment Department, engaged the audience with environmental awareness songs and rural arts like Karakattam and Wailattam. Additionally, informational leaflets and cloth bags were distributed to the public, emphasizing environmental consciousness, spearheaded by Mr. Bernadette, the Ramanathapuram Education District National Green Force Coordinator of the Environment Department.
