Nizamabad: Non duty paid liquor was seized and 5 arrested for illegal transportation by the excise police since last night. Illegal transportation of the liquor manufactured in Haryana was being done and were hoarded at different places, according to Excise Superintendent Mr. Navin Chandra. Of the total of 10 accused the police arrested five accused and seized 114 cartons of liquor worth about Rs.7 lakh and registered seven cases. The police are taking efforts to nab the rest of the accused who have absconded. On a confidential piece of information received, the district task force team and excise enforcement team led by Deputy Commissioner of Excise Mr. David Ravikanth conducted raids extensively in the two circles, he said. Mr. Navin Chandra said, the officers who were engaged in the raids in Bodhan and Renjal mandals are Enforcement AES Mr. K. Nandagopal, CI Ms. Deepika, DTF CI Mr. Venkat Reddy, Bodhan Excise CI Mr. K. Ramulu, Nizamabad CI Mr. Kamalakar Reddy and SI Ms. Sindhu.
