Hyderabad City, Telangana, April 23, 2026: In a significant step towards curbing drug-related crimes, the Hyderabad City Police has expanded its Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) from two teams to five specialized units. This intelligence-driven task force is focused on prevention, detection, raids, seizures, and prosecution of narcotics offenses under a strict zero-tolerance policy.
The newly established H-NEW office at Rajendranagar was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Police Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, IPS. The unit includes Team 14, led by Inspectors Srikanth and Nagarjun along with dedicated staff, further strengthening enforcement capabilities.
With several successful operations already carried out by existing teams across Hyderabad and other states, the enhanced force aims to intensify action against drug networks. The wing will generate actionable intelligence, maintain comprehensive databases, and conduct coordinated operations to dismantle organized drug trafficking.
Hyderabad Police reaffirmed its commitment to protecting youth and ensuring a drug-free society through continuous vigilance, awareness, and strong legal action.
