Hyderabad, Telangana: In a major breakthrough, the Sultan Bazar Police of Khairathabad Zone apprehended a habitual interstate offender involved in multiple ATM fraud cases across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The accused, Intipalli Rama Rao @ Sriram @ Ramu (31), was arrested following a detailed investigation involving CCTV analysis and technical evidence. Police also seized two mobile phones used in the crimes and froze ₹2.40 lakh in his bank account.
He targeted victims at ATM deposit machines by pretending to assist them, showing fake transaction confirmations, and fleeing with their cash.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to involvement in 8 recent cases and admitted to committing 73 similar offences between 2018 and 2025. The successful arrest highlights the alertness and professionalism of the police, ensuring public safety and bringing relief to victims.
