Srinagar: As a part of public outreach programme, Police in Budgam facilitated police-public interaction meetings at Magam Police Station and Beerwah Police Station. The meetings were held while following social distancing norms and other COVID protocols.
The meeting at Magam Police Station was chaired by SDPO Magam Mr. Mohammad Saleem Lone JKPS along with SHO Magam Police Station while as at Beerwah Police Station, the meeting was chaired by SHO Beerwah Police Station. These meetings were attended by heads of coaching institutes of town Magam, Brick Kiln owners of Beerwah and respectable citizens these areas.
During these meetings, various issues were discussed such as rate of bricks, overloading, use of tarpaulin cover, over speeding of tippers, drug menace etc. The Chairing officers assured that their grievances will be resolved on priority and also urged upon the heads of coaching institutes to brief young students about the ill effects and consequences of drugs. The chairing officers also stressed upon the participants to encourage youth to adopt ethical behavior in a positive way which always leads to bright future.
Chairing officers also sought their cooperation in maintaining peace and stability in their respective areas; besides eradicating various social evils especially drug menace. The participants in these meetings assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
