Tamil Nadu, Madurai: Over 800 kilograms of cannabis seized in various narcotics cases across Madurai city has been safely destroyed at a biomedical waste facility in Tirunelveli district. The disposal was carried out under the supervision of Madurai City Police Commissioner Lokanathan.
A total of 806.051 kilograms of cannabis, linked to 172 registered cases from different police stations in Madurai, was transported in the morning to the Aseptic Systems biomedical waste management facility in Poththayadi village, located under Vijaynarayanam Police Station limits in the Nanguneri sub-division.
The destruction process was conducted in strict compliance with legal and environmental safety guidelines.
