Madurai, Tamil Nadu: A high-level consultative meeting on law and order was held at the Madurai District Superintendent of Police Office under the chairmanship of Dr. Maheshwar Dayal, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order), Tamil Nadu Police.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abhinav Kumar, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Madurai Range; Mr. B.K. Arvind, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Madurai District; Dr. Kannan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Virudhunagar District; Ms. Sathriya Kavin, IPS, Probationary Assistant Superintendent of Police, along with other senior police officers.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the prevailing law and order situation in the districts, effective crime prevention strategies, and comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming festive season.

Subsequently, the ADGP personally inspected the venues of the world-famous Palamedu and Alanganallur Jallikattu events, conducted annually during the Pongal festival, and issued necessary instructions and guidance to officers to ensure robust security arrangements and the smooth conduct of the events.
