Boudh: In the district of Boudh, Odisha, a man has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing a woman who resisted his rape attempt. According to sources, the incident took place in Palaspata village under Baunsuni police limits in the district, where a group of artistes had gathered to perform ‘Danda Nacha’.
The accused, identified as Ugrasen Sethi, who was also one of the performers, allegedly went to the victim’s house when her husband was away and attempted to rape her. When the woman resisted Ugrasen’s attempt, he attacked her with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot. The victim’s daughter, who was in the house at the time of the incident, rushed out and informed the villagers about what had happened.
The villagers caught Ugrasen while he was trying to flee the area and beat him up. Later, they informed the police and handed over the injured Ugrasen to them. The police have registered a case against him and initiated an investigation.
The incident has sent shock waves through the village and surrounding areas, with many expressing their anger and disbelief over the heinous act. The victim’s family is in a state of shock and mourning the loss of their loved one. The police have assured them of a fair investigation and justice for the victim.
