Mangalore: The National Road Safety Week-2021 organized under the aegis of the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate was inaugurated at a function held at T V Raman Pai Hall on January 20, Wednesday.
Presiding over the function, City Police Commissioner Mr. N Shashi Kumar IPS while calling for strict adherence to traffic rules said the violators are penalized to check cases of violation and not to fill the coffers of the government.
Pointing out that most road accidents are caused due to negligence, he said people of Mangaluru who are known for their intellect and high education levels should be a role model in terms of following traffic rules.
He also exhorted students to give top priority to adherence to traffic rules and urged vehicle owners to sensitize their employees on the need to follow traffic rules.
