Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: As part of the ongoing “Operation SHIELDNET” initiative, Tirunelveli district police intensified crime prevention and vehicle inspection drives across the district on May 22, 2024.
During the special operation, police apprehended 32 history-sheeted offenders, executed 8 pending arrest warrants, and initiated preventive action under Section 126 of the BNSS against 4 individuals.
In addition, extensive vehicle checks led to the seizure of 105 two-wheelers for violations including riding without registration numbers, dangerous driving, misuse of high-beam headlights, and unauthorized vehicle modifications.
Police stated that the operation is being jointly carried out by all police stations in the district with the objective of preventing crime, improving road safety, and ensuring public security.
