Banaskantha, Gujarat: In a major breakthrough against organized property crime, the Local Crime Branch (LCB),Palanpur successfully arrested three notorious members of the interstate “Shaitan Gang,” including its alleged kingpin, solving a series of thefts and burglaries that had caused concern among traders.
The gang was allegedly involved in more than 40 robberies, housebreakings, and burglaries across multiple states. Following a meticulous investigation, the accused were traced and apprehended in Mumbai, marking a significant achievement for the investigating team.
The operation also led to the detection of theft cases involving six Angadia firms, including P. Shailesh, Ambalal Hargovandas, and Madhavalal Maganlal, located at Gurunanak Chowk, Palanpur. Investigators made effective use of the Netram Command and Control Centre’s CCTV surveillance system, which played a crucial role in identifying and tracking the suspects.
Police recovered ₹1,10,000in cash and burglary tools, with the total value of the seized property estimated at ₹2,32,300. The swift recovery of stolen property and the arrest of the accused within a short period underscore the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and the use of modern surveillance technology.
