Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: In a strong move to promote safe driving and protect the public, the Srikakulam Traffic Police have intensified enforcement against drunk-and-drive violations.
During routine checks, the police apprehended Revanth (29), a resident of Anandapuram village, Amudalavala mandal, for driving under the influence of alcohol. After being produced before 2nd Class Magistrate Sri Sivaramakrishna, the accused was sentenced to five (5) days imprisonment, reflecting the zero-tolerance policy toward drunk-driving. Traffic CI Ramarao shared details of the action.
Meanwhile, in Palasa Court, the Kasibugga Police presented three vehicle drivers who were fined ₹10,000 each for traffic violations. Additionally, eight individuals found consuming alcohol and causing public nuisance were fined ₹1,000 each.
The strict and timely actions by the police have been widely appreciated by the public, reinforcing safety on the roads and maintaining peace in the region.
