Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: Three youths have been arrested and imprisoned under the Goondas Act for their involvement in cases of attempted murder and criminal intimidation within the jurisdiction of the Moondradaippu Police Station in Tirunelveli district. The arrested individuals are Nagarajan (19) from Pattapillaipudhur (Nanguneri Taluk), Madasamy (20) from Marukalkurichi/Aladipudhur, and Milton Polak (19) from Pandiyapuram (Kalakkad). As they were repeatedly engaging in criminal activities, the Moondradaippu Police Inspector, Subbulakshmi, requested action against them under the Goondas Act. Following the recommendation of Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police Vishvesh B. Sastry (IPS) and the subsequent order issued by the District Collector, all three were detained under the Goondas Act and lodged in Palayamkottai Central Prison. So far this year, 70 individuals have been arrested and imprisoned under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act (Goondas Act) in Tirunelveli district.
