NEW DELHI: In a joint operation, police busted a sex racket and rescued a 15-year-old orphan girl who was allegedly forced to involve in flesh trade.
The survivor had lost her mother long ago and her father recently. Thereafter, she and her younger brother started to live with their aunt in utter poverty. The survivor aspired to become a make-up artist and joint a beauty parlour. In her surprise, she was forced into a prostitution racket in Delhi.
Recently, the survivor was introduced to a woman called Laxmi by one of her friends aged 12. She promised her that Laxmi would find a high payed job for her. Few days later she was called in Laxmi’s houses from where she was asked to go to a provided address. With great hope and trust reached the place. Unfortunately, she realized that she landed up in a prostitution racket. She, along with other minor girls were repeatedly raped there. The survivor continued to suffer the trauma of being raped in many occasions. Even she was kidnapped and gang-raped, brutally beaten and received cigarette burns on her body.
On September 10, she was sexually assaulted by a 65-year-old customer. Following which she managed to escape from the place and contacted her aunt. On receiving the information, her aunt approached the Delhi Commission for Women’s (DCW) local police. Based on the information, the joint operation was conducted and the survivor was rescued.
Police have registered an FIR against Laxmi. It was said Laxmi mostly targeted poor girls who could easily fall prey to her nefarious intention. She used to charge Rs 300 from each customer said the Official.
