Eluru: Police arrested a man who admitted himself as a murderer after killing his wife with an iron rod at Mettagudem village of West Godavari district. The cruel incident took place on Wednesday night. A woman named Koduri Jeevanajuothi was allegedly killed by her husband, Kodur Manikantha Swamy. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the husband returned home drunk. The couple entered into a long argument obstinately. Later, the situation turned into ugly and Manikantha without impulsively hit his wife on the head with an iron rod and immediately she collapsed on the floor unconscious and she was found dead. In the aftermath of the incident, the man went to the Chintalapudi police station and confessed his cruel deed and surrendered. According to police and local sources, the couple had married around six years ago and had two children. Local people reported that the man was addicted to alcohol. The body was shifted to a government hospital and an iron rod was recovered. A case has been registered according to the complaint made the brother of a deceased woman.
